Strabismus (Crossed Eyes)

Book Appointment

Those struggling with depth perception, visual space orientation or related vision problems accompanied by issues keeping both eyes focused in the same direction may have a condition known as strabismus, or crossed eyes. Strabismus occurs when the brain and the eyes have trouble communicating clearly with one another, and, if left untreated, it may lead to more serious prolems, such as a lazy eye. Many cases of strabismus are easily apparent because one eye turns upward, downward or away from the other in a noticeable manner.

Unlike some eye conditions, strabismus will not go away or lessen without appropriate treatment. This holds true for children as well as adults. Therefore, those experiencing strabismus should consult their eye doctor a soon as possible to determine a proper course of treatment.
